Volkswagen is planning to cut 50,000 jobs with more at risk at as the car giant grapples with a slump in sales and competition from Chinese EV makers.
Roundtable’s guest, Isobel Hilton, Founder of The China Dialogue Trust, says domestic competition in China is driving down the price, making them increasingly attractive to consumers locally and around the world.
She goes on to say that where once German vehicles were the cars of choice in china, now driving a top of the range BYD is a sign of "national pride" for the Chinese.
