Is the Cold War between Morocco and Algeria finally coming to an end? For decades, Rabat and Algiers have been locked in one of the most enduring rivalries in North Africa, which has shaped politics, security, and regional integration across the Maghreb. Despite their shared history, culture, and religion, deeper differences in political systems, foreign policy orientations, and colonial legacies have driven persistent mistrust.
