Can I save this beautiful blue coral?
In this video, I take on a small boulder of stunning blue-and-white coral and try to reduce it down while working around the seams, cracks, and natural flaws running through the material. The goal isn’t necessarily to make a finished arrowhead—I just want to see if I can successfully work this piece down into something useful without losing it to the fractures.
This coral has some incredible color and translucency, but getting into the good material isn’t easy. Watch as I carefully work through this piece and see what I can salvage from it!
If you enjoy flintknapping, primitive technology, stone tools, arrowheads, and watching raw material transform, be sure to subscribe to Gulf Coast Knapping.
