St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is an amazing place where kids can get world-class care from experts, families are taken care of, and they don't receive a bill.
This video talks about Beckham Zobrist who lost his eye due to retinoblastoma (cancer of the eye) when he was little. He had a prosthetic Chicago Cubs eye created that led him down an amazing journey. In 2016 he was in the running for Cubs fan of the year. He got to meet Rizzo and tons of other cubs players. He is a distant relative of Ben Zobrist who would later that year become the 2016 World Series MVP. ESPN made a special E60 about Beckham as well. (vimeo.com/189257803)
The parents of the kids how are cancer survivors and those who are not, do a ton to raise money so that others can receive the same treatment that they received. In Central Illinois - Peoria, Morton, Washington, Dunlap, East Peoria, Pekin, ... the community is very involved. Every day I look around and see someone that I know that is involved in raising money for St. Jude. It's really quite amazing. The kids are heroes, but there are so many others around me around me as well.
