Yes, but only if the pieces are built to work together from the start. Here's what made this capsule actually function:
- Morgan tee: Fitted, hits just below the high hip, works tucked or loose, pairs with every other piece in the capsule and everything already in my wardrobe.
- Leif boxer shorts: Came together in about an hour and a half because I'd made the full pants last winter and just shortened them. Already had the pieces cut, labeled, and ready to go.
- Fern blouse: Made in the same black and white gingham as the shorts, which turned two separates into a matching set I could wear together or completely apart.
- Citron dress: black rib knit with a built-in shelf bra. Layered over the Morgan tee, knotted with the Fern, or worn completely alone. I got three completely different looks from one piece.
- Accessories did more work than expected: One pink bandana, freshwater pearls, a statement shoe made familiar combinations feel genuinely new each time.
- Pulling in one older piece: Reaching for the denim Orla skirt on day three made both the Morgan tee and Fern blouse feel like different garments entirely.
