The second generation of the Ford Fusion can tow a trailer. The stated towing capacity is different though. For the 2.5L non-turbo and also 1.5L EcoBoost, Ford states the towing capacity of 1000 pounds. But for the 2.0 EcoBoost and 1.6 EcoBoost, the towing capacity is 2000 pounds which is quite weird since all these cars use the same automatic transmission type and have the same suspension.
