The forecast called for one last October storm, and we were not about to let it pass us by. What started as a simple weekend trip turned into three days of rain, mud, and discovery deep in a part of the Ozarks I had never seen before. Through fog and flooded trails, we pushed further, driven by that quiet pull all explorers feel, the need to see what is waiting just beyond the next ridge. Along the way, we found more than new roads. We found perspective, stillness, and a reminder of why we chase adventure in the first place. This is more than an overlanding trip. It is a story about weathering the storm, inside and out.
