*Meaning:* With joyful hearts and beautiful golden baskets, offer fragrant champaka flowers.
*Charanam 1*
Pamaramulu mani niyamamunu Rama manoharuni paini mara pula
*Meaning:* Giving up ignorance and worldly thoughts, offer lotus flowers to the charming Lord of Lakshmi.

Dhata vinutudu aina Sita pati paini chetulato parijata sumamula

*Meaning:* To escape the endless cycle of birth and death, wholeheartedly shower flowers upon the Lord worshipped by Tyagaraja.
*The Radical Saint*
Tyagaraja Swami famously rejected royal gold to maintain his spiritual independence, choosing simplicity on the banks of the Kaveri river. Composing in Telugu—the language of ordinary people—he ensured that sincere devotion was accessible to everyone regardless of status.
