Virgin Trains USA (now Brightline and XPress West) has outlined its plans for the high-speed California train to Las Vegas. The project is expected to break ground this year and be completed by 2023. It will focus on a first-class customer experience, with drinks in hand upon entry and bags checked in your Las Vegas hotel on arrival. The train will take roughly 1 1/2 hours from its Victorville or Apple Valley station to Las Vegas; normally a 3-4 hour drive, depending on traffic. The company plans to eventually extend west to Palmdale and connect down the Cajon Pass to Rancho Cucamonga station, which will connect to Los Angeles.
