California travel expert Veronica Hill shares her Big Bear Discovery Center Travel Guide in this episode of "California Travel Tips."

This children's discovery center is packed with activities, from gold panning and hatchet throwing to bird house and feeder crafts. The discovery center also offers weekend guided tours in Big Bear Lake, from kayaking and canoe trips to snow shoe hikes in the winter.

Rated one of the top discovery centers in California, the discovery nature center is also near several great hiking trails, including Cougar Crest Trail, which intersects with the Pacific Crest Trail.
