After having watched Star Wars: A New Hope over and over again for the past year and a half, my son finally got to watch The Empire Strikes Back on his fifth birthday. This movie meant more to me than any other movie in my life, so sharing it with Caden was something I was very much looking forward to. While I know the movie can never mean to him exactly what it meant to me (the world of entertainment is just too different now), his growing love of the Star Wars universe has allowed me to vicariously return to it all through him.
This is pretty much the reaction I expected of him, and probably mirrors in some small way the look that was on my face when I first saw the film back in 1980.
