Had a slight cold while recording this, please excuse my voice here!
I noticed that a lot of songs about Chanukah tend to be on the lighter side/more jokey, as opposed to Christmas songs which have a wide variety from serious to goofy. I wanted to try my hand at writing a more melancholic Chanukah song using similar chords to classic Christmas songs.

I especially wanted to capture the feeling of connection I personally get around this time of year. When I was younger, I would stay up late and be by the menorah until the candles went out around 2 or so in the morning. It was always a really good moment to reflect and calm myself, which I felt the more relaxing jazz standard-inspired Christmas song chords would work really well for. Hope you all enjoy this one!
