Brushes down on this one. Perhaps you were there when we started this on a livestream. I’ve finally finished this piece depicting the lake’s edge, here in beautiful Wanaka NZ.

It was difficult to get references without a swarm of tourists in the way, all queuing for a glimpse of the famous “Wanaka Tree”. I’m not sure the famous tree is quite as nice as that light filtering through the poplars onto the path. That’s my preferred view!

There was a nice mix of colours to explore here. The Sycamores to the left are still fully fledged in their greenery, whilst the dusting of gold leaves on those poplars glisten in the sun. There’s too much beauty here in Wanaka to capture on the canvas. It's going to be a busy year here in the studio!
