Socratica Presents SMART MONEY
Many people are embarrassed that they aren't great with money. We believe it's never to late to learn! We're all about Lifelong Learning here at Socratica, and we are here to help you increase your Financial Literacy.
The theme of SMART MONEY is making informed choices.
Unless you're lucky enough to live in an extremely walkable/ bikeable city, or in a place where there's great public transport, you probably need a car. Here in North America, we use cars all the time, both for personal and professional reasons. It's practically a "must have" to include in your budget.
But you do have options. You can Buy a car outright, whether new or used; or you can lease a car for a few years. In this video, we work through some examples with numbers to help you see some of the details worth considering before you decide which way to go.

![Ideals in Ring Theory (Abstract Algebra)
An ideal of a ring is the similar to a normal subgroup of a group. Using an ideal, you can partition a ring into cosets, and these cosets form a new ring - a factor ring. (Also called a quotient ring.)
After reviewing normal subgroups, we will show you *why* the definition of an ideal is the simplest one that allows you to create factor rings.
As an example, we will look at an ideal of the ring Z[x], the ring of polynomials with integer coefficients.
