Wednesday saw the latest chapter in the saga of residents attempting to get an initiative to limit the building of data centers on the November ballot in Butte-Silver Bow.
Plaintiffs 406 People First presented their case this morning in Butte-Silver Bow District Court, stating that they provided the requisite number of signatures two weeks before the initial Aug. 14 deadline that Election Administrator Cindy Sherman gave them.
But Sherman recently told 406 People First that she made a mistake, and the actual deadline is July 13, meaning the initiative that would require approval from two-thirds of registered voters for the building or expansion of data centers won’t make it on the ballot this November.
