In this video, C. Vision Productions returns to Burlington Northern’s Chicago Racetrack, as videographer Dan Hadley explores this fascinating stretch of railroad between Chicago and Eola, Illinois. Our coverage extends from the late 1980s, to the fall of 1990. At the time these scenes were filmed, this was Burlington Northern’s 1st Subdivision of the Lakes Division. Freight trains, intermodal trains, locals, commuter trains, yard jobs, and even BN’s executive train, all make appearances in this program. Locomotive models seen include E9, F9, GP9, SD9, SD38-2 (GATX), GP39E, GP39M, GP39-2, F40PH (Amtrak), F40PH-2 (Metra), GP40-2, SD40-2, GP50, SW1000, SW1200, B30-7AB, and B39-8E (LMX).
