In this production, we feature classic railroad action in and around the Twin Cities of Minnesota between 1979 and 1988, with footage provided by videographer Bob Rivard. Railroads seen in this video include Chicago and North Western, Soo Line, Milwaukee Road, Burlington Northern, Minneapolis Northfield and Southern, Rock Island, Minnesota Transfer Railway, Anderson Windows Industrial, and Amtrak. Bob takes us to many of the area’s best railroad hotspots, as well as a few of the lesser known spots. Locations visited include the Stone Arch Bridge, Shoreham Yard, Coon Creek Junction, Short Line Hill, Westminster Tower, Marshall Street, Shoreham Hill, Cardigan Junction, Bald Eagle, Park Junction, Newport, Hudson, Robert Street Lift Bridge, Dayton’s Bluff, Park Junction, Como Shops, Bayport, Savage, Eden Prairie, Fordson Junction, and more. Motive power ranges from F-units to SD40-2s, with classic U-Boats, switchers, and various “geeps” also seen.
