For a decade, parents have been speaking up about family courts. They file complaints. They post on social media. They go to federal court. We listen. And sometimes the hardest part of this work is not finding the injustice — it is proving it.
This video does that.
We collaborated with @fatherinexile bring you something rare: a transcript and a courtroom camera recording the same hearing at the same time — one in California, one in Nevada.
Together they show what family court looks like when a judge thinks no one is watching, how jurisdiction over children gets decided, and how the relationship between a judge and local attorneys shapes outcomes that parents spend years — sometimes decades — fighting to reverse.
Father in Exile is a military veteran with no criminal record and no history of domestic violence. He has not seen his sons since 2019. He kept every record. This video is part of why that matters.
This is part of our ongoing investigation into California's court reporter crisis — covering transcripts, cameras in courtrooms, parenting coordinators, and the attorneys and judges who treat due process as optional.
