As we develop more and more renewable generation for Aotearoa New Zealand, we're constantly looking at different sustainable initiatives and practices that will allow us to continuously reduce the environmental footprint of each project.

A great example of this is the switch room building up at Ruakākā Battery Energy Storage Site - only the second timber switch room in the country! Using timber for the majority of the building significantly reduced the carbon footprint compared to the typical concrete tilt-slab design.

It’s just one example of how our whole team is chasing down every possibility to make our renewable energy projects as sustainable as possible.
