A new national project called Bug Hunt encourages Australians to photograph and upload insects and other invertebrates to help scientists detect invasive species, which are driving over 80 per cent of Australia's most vulnerable native plants and animals towards extinction. The initiative uses the free iNaturalist app, where artificial intelligence and human experts identify species.
