A new private school on the Gold Coast is introducing a double shift model for prep to year two students, offering two daily learning sessions which allows parents to choose which shift suits their child. A similar system already operates at a Sunshine Coast high school, where junior students attend 10.30am to 4pm and seniors attend 7.30am to 1pm, allowing older students to work or study at home in the afternoon while managing school traffic more effectively.
