This song is NOT about me or my past relationships— I’m extremely fortunate to have had very good past relationships. However, I noticed that a lot of my friends have been dealing with rough relationships and breakups, and I wanted to write something that people could listen to for encouragement and support. Also, I had this goal in my mind of evoking a feeling like older Maurizio DeJorio songs… not sure if that worked. ^^;
Also, this is the first full track I’ve made entirely in Ableton Live 9 instead of Logic Pro X— I still have lots to learn and a few things to fix going forward, but there’s definitely a lot about Live that’s really neat!

I like to think of it as a Hi-NRG Attack song with vocal cues from Mauro Farina, produced at Sinclairestyles studio. (Except, Id not deign to suggest Im on their level yet. ^^; )

I don’t really agree with the mindset of this character I’ve written, here. They seem to want to focus on perfecting every little detail of their work, whereas I’ve had to learn to temper my perfectionism and improve over multiple releases. Nevertheless, it was fun to consider what this marble-sculptor had in mind for whatever he was working on, and perhaps look back on similar struggles with perfectionism.
…speaking of which, I think I was way too heavy with echo & reverb on the vocals this time around. Whoops.
