Every says Kerala is expensive, especially Kochi. But yete’e how I did it in budget. I recently visited Kochi with one goal: to break the myth that Kerala is expensive and can’t be done on a budget.

And honestly? It starts with where you stay.

Your hotel sets the tone of your entire Kerala trip — blow your budget here, and everything else feels stressful.

I chose ibis Kochi City Centre (Ernakulam) because it made sense on every level:

👉 Metro next door, railway close by, airport not too far — which basically means less money on cabs and more money on experiences.

👉 Clean, cosy rooms. Proper local food with a familiar twist.

👉 And prices that don’t make you rethink your trip (starting around ₹4000).

This stay alone changed how I looked at doing Kerala smart — not cheap, but value-driven.
