Deaf poet Johanna Mesch’s signed poem (in British Sign Language) "Ocean" shows how pollution damages the oceans. This poem shows an anthropomorphised ocean.
The poems in this channel are part of the collection made as the University of Bristol Sign Language Poetry Anthology with the aim to study metaphor in sign language poetry. The poem is discussed in the book Introducing sign language literature folklore and creativity, by Rachel Sutton-Spence and Michiko Kaneko, published by Palgrave press.
