BRUTAL DOOM v21 GOLD release with DARK DOOM Z addon, map The Restless Dream based on the Silent Hill created by Thysamithan on the Ultra-Violence difficulty level. The Restless Dream map by Thysamithan is a quite difficult level, where the ammunition is really really scarce (perhaps not opted for other mods, maybe). Pace of this level purely depends on you, most of the monsters are simply waiting for you in the woods, in the shadows, behind obstacles, behind the doors... practically everywhere. Most of the enemies waiting for you are custom added (including the bosses), while they are not so dangerous at all during the combat, because of health scarcity it might be difficult. Enemies added here are not so resistant like Barons of Hell or Mancubi, most of them die to few shots and this is a good thing because of the ammunition scarcity of this level. I would personally describe the map as a very difficult and challenging even though there are not many monsters (less than 200 on Ultra-Violence), but some encounters might give you a headache. As I wrote before, the monsters are not that difficult but it gets worse once they hit you, especially these slow red melee Revenants might be dangerous because their damage output is huge. You will also encounter another interesting thing - no monster in this map is a vanilla DOOM enemy, all of them here are custom monsters with their own attacks and abilities like turning invisible.

PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 and THE MERGE for DOOM II Hell On Earth by BassDJ, Chaotic Random Spawn Preset on Man And A Half Difficulty Level with 100% Secrets Achieved. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Welcome to the Merge, this is a two level long mini-episode where demonic corruption took place, overwhelming the known Hangar together with some underground facility, connected with elevator. The Hangar part is of course greatly expanded when compared to the vanilla, its a way longer level with greatly bigger level than before, also with adding the custom D3 textures the map looks simply brilliant. You will also need to add the Dynamic Lighting to fully get the best what you can get from the map, its a truly outstanding great visual design, you will feel like on the surface of Mars, overrun by the demons. The Hangar part for sure is the toughest one in this episode because of the ammo and weapon scarcity in the beginning, especially the first two arena encounters might be problematic because there are Barons already. But with every next encounter it gets slightly easier because of the additional weaponry, during the encounter with Cyberdemon there is also a Invincibility Sphere to grab nearby, also you can spend it at something else. The first level ends with the three stages of final arena nearby the exit, there are multiple enemies waiting for you, including the Pain Elementals, Lost Souls, Mancubi or even these Archviles, yes there are two of them. The next map is an underground portal testing facility where the titular Merge takes place - two realms, Human and Demon are slowly merging with each other, you must teleport to the Hell itself and finish it for once. Underground facility part can be quite confusing, especially finding the blue keycard door where you have to take the barely visible stairs in one of the rooms, since then it becomes a piece of cake to navigate. Once you cross the portal a real fun begins because difficulty is quite cranked up, there are eventually two Cyberdemons waiting for you, and they attack you from a quite safe distance.

PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 together with Dread Moon WAD by Gwarl on the Man and a Half difficulty level, Chaotic Random spawn preset, 100% Secrets achieved. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop. Dread Moon is currently a WAD in the demo phase where we can explore two levels based on the second episode of The Ultimate Doom called The Shores of Hell, of course in this version they are much longer and with DOOM 2 stuff around. This means finally with The Shores of Hell climax we can shoot to Mancubi, Revenants, Arch-Viles, Arachnotrons, Chaingunners and these incredibly annoying Pain Elementals too, with appearance of Super Shotgun to find somewhere. The beginning of the Deimos Anomaly can be troublesome if you play with any +fast difficulty because you are teleported immediately to a room full of boxes with multiple Zombies and Imps inside, well that looks being teleported from Phobos. But I still cant smell the rotten meat as it was in Knee-Deep of the Dead debriefing, but surely you have to act quick, run around and pick the demons one by one and open the only door to find an armor, some health and finally some rest. This level has three secrets with one incredibly easy (just grab a visible Megaarmor) to find, there are also some optional places that you can visit but there is no need and also look out for these custom Plasma Zombies, they do a lot of damage. Head to an exit jest nearby your starting location and go to the teleporter, you will enter a Containment Area with some changes like additional rooms to explore and a way more twisted look than before, this level is also way longer than original. Basically as you enter a Warehouse you will have enemies almost everywhere, you have to grab 2 keys (blue and yellow) to progress further, yellow key is also used to grab your only early Rocket Launcher from a room just at start of the map. Once you enter a green marble corridor... well you will notice that a lot has been changed from an original level, you will be also attacked by a new type of flying monster that launches projectiles, thankfully these flyers are very weak. One of the secrets is unfortunately impossible to trigger because of the secret being placed on too thin stairs, you can trigger it with noclip and flying but honestly this secret serves only as a shortcut without any items to grab.

The Bad Morning episode of Black Jack WAD has some narrative vibes while playing it, basically every level begins with a short-medium introduction to the level from Doomguys perspective about the objective. And well, first map begins with Doomguy woke up in the middle of the night because of the strange noises outside his bedroom, while he is not sure what happens, its time to grab his trusty shotgun. If you are not satisfied with using only a shotgun, inside a closet (a secret area tho), there is a Super Shotgun to grab with some body armor to make the beginning a bit easier, because you have two dozens of monsters outside. First map is pretty short and divided in two different parts, first being the Doomguys apartment, second the building and area outside it - your main goal is to reach the cursed sewers (yet another sewer level, yikes). The sewers are also divided into few different areas, the map itself is also slightly more difficult with throwing a higher tier enemies against you, even those annoying Pain Elementals with Mancubi and Revenants. Well, when I wrote about the difficulty itself of the second map, I forgot about the first one - can you imagine playing a first level of the normal WAD and getting an Archvile already in first minute, a surprise one? Once you reach the underground metro station once leaving the sewers, prepare for a bit more difficult battle because there are multiple Imps and Zombies waiting for you, heck its a one big trap if you are not careful. After leaving the metro you are in the Residential Area of the city, but well its quite deserted because of the annoying demons - a big open area with dozens of monsters and be aware of zombie tanks, ouch. This map requires quite annoying key hunting in the multiple buildings, its just like the most disliked DOOM 2 city maps where you have to look for the keys, another warning because maps ending can kick you a bit.

Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Midwich Elementary School is a slower paced puzzled map with several keys to collect across the school, the map is not so hard thanks to the lesser amount of monsters, however some of them are tricky to spot. Tricky because they are simply invisible to the player, they are revealed only once they attack the player for the first time, to make things more interesting, enemies wont attack you until you trigger a specific spot. The map might be confusing since the start, as the school has lots of doors and lockers to be explored (openable lockers have violet lock and contain a precious loot inside like... Unmaker what happened during my playthrough). First moments of the map are quite comfortable as there are not so many monsters to be found except occasional Imps (remember that with the newest update Imp projectiles are faster and they leap on the walls, too). You also have to find three scattered keys around the rooms, the small problem might be with how confusing it is to find a right room as some of them are locked from the one side and there are no markings where to go. The map has a total of 5 levels that you have to explore (First and a second floor, the roof, the basement and a final arena below the basement), the map also gets a darker more serious vibe in the second part. But first you need to restore the power in the building, to make this you have to explore both floors and then head to the basement to restore the power, then head to the Courtyard and hide in the shelter. Once you leave the shelter, you are inside the Nightmare School courtyard, the level had been altered with adding the more high level monsters like Mancubi or even the Archviles, way more difficult. Head to the roof and restore a power there, then head to the Courtyard and press another switch to open the gate on the first floor, head to the basement and finish a Cyberdemon in the final arena.

BRUTAL DOOM Arthur Edition together with ChainWorm Kommando for DOOM 2 by Chainworm666 on the Ultra-Violence Difficulty level with achieving 100% Secrets. Chainworm Kommando... oh this one is a really big WAD with 10 standard levels + 1 map that serves as credits, the maps are fairly short but once they are combined prepare yourself for quite a long over one hour long trip to Hell. First map is really short, it will take you up to 3 minutes to be completed, quite small but can be problematic because you have almost nothing when started, there is only one secret but useful because there are plenty shotgunners here. Second map slowly shows that Hell began to transform our reality with already showing an inactive... Icon of Sin guarded by some demons and first Arch-Vile, be careful because this map has some Mancubi, Revenants and even Barons of Hell. Third map is the only one that has no secrets at all, its time to evacuate from this cursed place and head to the forest, fairly quick level but be aware of Pain Elementals and Arachnotrons, nothing too difficult but can damage you. Fourth level called Totenwald is a short and linear map where we leave Techbase theme and explore a cursed forest with some abandoned huts, nothing good waits for you except some demons and even an annoying Arch-Vile in toolshed. Then we reach a haunted mansion inside forest, this is a level more difficult than previous maps, prepare yourself for quite a maze and puzzles, plenty of demons are hidden behind bookshelves, nice map with 6 secrets to be found. After this mansion we head to the cemetery with only two secrets but it is also quite a difficult map when you are on low health, some of the areas include fights in small rooms, for example facing 4 Hell Knights in red skull area. Seventh level is really interesting because this is quite a tricky map where you lose all the equipment at the end because of the death exit, really painful because this is also a level where you finally lay your hands on the first BFG. This is also a teleport to real Hell where things become more difficult, next maps are harder than Techbase + Forest + Mansion + Cemetery areas, prepare for way more ambushes than previously, grab as many things as you can from secrets. Final level is the largest one with the highest amount of monsters to be found (over 250), of secrets (8 in total) and of course is the most twisted one with some nice surprises like revisiting Wolfenstein and a final boss at the end.
