TOO young TO DIE – Bruce Lee
Despite having acted in only a smattering of movies, Bruce Lee has become the universal personification of Martial Arts’ cinema. More than 40 years after his death his movies are still absolute bestsellers. His image can be found on posters and t-shirts. Actors as well as martial artists worship his work and name him as a role model. To date, techniques and choreographies are the benchmark for console and computer games. Bruce Lee: his name, his face, his legacy have become icons of pop culture.
All his life Bruce Lee crossed and pushed boundaries. He overcame boarders of racism and nationality, of fighting styles and film making, vanquished all kinds of barriers in sports, culture and the arts. He was a brilliant fighter, a creative choreographer, a literate philosopher and a sportsman with an iron will. He never gave up, no matter how serious the resistance. Yet it seems it was his self-restraint that killed him. Ignoring his serious medical condition and various afflictions, Bruce Lee died during the postproduction of his most acknowledged work, “Enter The Dragon”. He was only 32 years old.
