Eight years after launching with a simple vision of keeping men connected through basketball, the BMD Brothers Making A Difference (BMD) 40 & Over Brotherhood Summer League has grown into one of Central Pennsylvania’s premier adult basketball leagues.
Founded by BMD CEO and Founder Ellis Proctor, the league has become much more than a place for former high school and college standouts to lace up their sneakers again. It has evolved into a community built on friendship, mentorship, healthy competition and brotherhood.
While many players have long moved beyond their competitive playing days, the level of basketball on display each summer continues to impress. Former stars still showcase their skills, proving that age has done little to diminish their passion for the game.
“This league is about bringing brothers together,” Proctor has emphasized throughout its eight-year run. “Basketball gives us a reason to stay active, reconnect with one another and continue making a positive impact in our community.”
