UKRI Stories | Bringing the future of quantum computing closer - 101 Jobs That Change the World (Ep 15) @UKResearchandInnovation | Uploaded August 2021 | Updated October 2024, 53 minutes ago.
"We just want everyone to understand what the benefits of quantum computing are for us"
Meet Dr Celia Yeung, a Technology Associate at the Quantum Computing and Simulation Hub. She speaks to a wide range of people, from investors to industrialists, and helps them understand quantum computing & simulation and its abilities. As well as explaining how the tech can benefit society now, she builds advocacy for long-term investment in quantum computing so its future potential for sectors like medicine and finance can be realised. She also works to build a more inclusive and diverse quantum workforce.
"I'm hoping that in 50 years time that everyone would have bought into some level and that there'll be a healthy, knowledgeable, skilled, inclusive, diverse workforce that helps us maintain the lead that we have in this global quantum race."

Our 101 Jobs profiles offer a glimpse into the lives of the varied people who are working across the research and innovation system, some in remote or unusual locations. Their jobs are essential to the creative, dynamic research and innovation system we need to tackle huge challenges like Covid-19, climate change, how we’ll live and work in the future – and they really do change the world.
