Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Plug-in or balcony solar is growing in the U.S. It already has won over many users in Europe. The concept is to allow self install solar panels to be plugged into standard outlets in homes or apartments to provide power. At least 8 states are allowing it with dozens more looking at legislation. The non-profit organization Bright Saver is helping in those efforts and is offering affordable kits for homes as well. Co-founder Rupert Mayer..

“So we do not make a cent of profit on those panels. The only thing that we ask is a membership, 29 dollars per year for people to access this very, very low price. So we’re selling the solar panels starting at under three hundred dollars.”

With all needed connections. More info? The site is BrightSaver.org.
