The last time I tried this, I used a couple of bottles that I happened to find in the woods. They were the older style glass Pepsi bottle and a glass Yoohoo bottle. (See LINK below) Today, I wanted to see if the much thicker glass of wine bottles and their bottoms would succumb to this technique also.
There are many videos on Youtube that show this technique. Take a bottle, fill it with water to a couple of inches below the top, smack it sharply on top with your hand, a visible cavitation occurs at the bottom of the bottle... a strong vacuum chamber, the weight of the water comes crashing back down against the bottom of the bottle, and breaks out the bottom.
