Breaking Christian News Christian Author Phillip Yancey Confesses to 8 Year Affair with Married Woman and he is retiring from ministry. In an emailed statement to Christianity Today, where he was editor-at-large, the 76-year-old Yancey stated that “I confess that for eight years I willfully engaged in a sinful affair with a married woman.” “My conduct defied everything that I believe about marriage. It was also totally inconsistent with my faith and my writings and caused deep pain for her husband and both of our families,” he added in the statement published by the outlet on Tuesday. Calling the affair “my great shame,” Yancey added that he was “now focused on rebuilding trust and restoring my marriage of 55 years.” “Having disqualified myself from Christian ministry, I am therefore retiring from writing, speaking, and social media,” he continued. “Instead, I need to spend my remaining years living up to the words I have already written.”
A really enjoyed Yancey’s books: What's So Amazing About Grace?, The Jesus I Never Knew, Where Is God When It Hurts?, and Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? But my favorite was, What's So Amazing About Grace?. Phillip Yancey sold more than 15 million copies of his books. He was also Christianity Todays Editor at large for 30 years. He has now thrown that all down the drain for another woman. Since Philip Yancey did repent we should pray for his restoration to Christ and his family. But it seems Philip Yancey will never return to ministry. Keep him and especially his wife in prayer!
