What if I told you that some of the biggest Christian ministries in the world didn't collapse randomly? What if they all followed the exact same pattern before everything fell apart? A new video called "The Five Steps When Mega Ministries Collapse" lays out a framework that connects the downfall of Jim Bakker, Mark Driscoll, Ravi Zacharias, and Brian Houston—and it argues that Daystar Television Network may already be on step four. I saw this video on the Rev’s you tube channel and it blew me away to see this pattern. The video explains that these ministry collapses often follow five recognizable steps. Step One: The founder becomes the institution. The ministry becomes so closely identified with one personality that everything revolves around that leader. Step Two: The money goes dark. Financial transparency begins to disappear, making accountability much more difficult. Step Three: Whistleblowers get handled instead of the actual problem. Rather than dealing with legitimate concerns, those raising questions become the focus. Step Four: The founder leaves—and there's nothing underneath. Without strong biblical leadership, accountability, and healthy governance, the ministry begins to unravel. Step Five: The donors find out last. By the time supporters learn the full story, much of the damage has already been done. The video isn't presented as a prophecy that every ministry will follow this path. Instead, it's a warning about patterns that Christians should recognize before it's too late. This isn't about mocking fallen leaders or celebrating church scandals. It's about learning from painful failures so the Body of Christ doesn't keep repeating them. The Church needs humility, biblical accountability, and leaders who are willing to be corrected before a crisis becomes a collapse.
