Happyfox Productions | BRAWL OF THE CENTURY - Short Film @happyfoxproductions | Uploaded December 2016 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Meet officer Dick, he isn't like any police officer you've ever seen. He is the first police officer in the history of the world to fight crime without a weapon. He only uses his BARE HANDS.
This short film was executed in a very small amount of time with no script and barely any planning. We all wanted to make something and have some fun while we do it. All of the dialogue in this film was improvised and made up on the day of filming... that's what happens when all of your friends get together in one place!
This production had a heavy deadline because it was originally made for a class. Life has been so busy, I realized the film was due in a few weeks and I haven't even written a script. So... we did the typical clutch Happyfox Productions way. I got some of my close friends together, who are all talented actors and filmmakers, and completely improvised this shoot from beginning to end.
The fact we filmed over 15 minutes of edited content (a lot was cut out of the final film) in two days with about a 2 person crew (once in a while a 3 person crew) is pretty good for our normal workflow. Of course we did have to sacrifice a bit of production value for speed. For example there is not a single dolly or tripod shot (besides the interview).
Post production was very fun to conquer. By now I have a very steady workflow and I know how to bang out edits efficiently and with the proper pacing I like. The only part that takes a while is trimming the fat, getting feedback, and sound. Most of post went great besides the effects. There were a few effects shots no one will notice only because they simple just stitching and painting things out such a equipment or wires. The other effects were the gun shot effects... those didn't turn out the greatest for my standards but it all comes down to deadlines and time. I simply didn't ave the time to do those shots so I threw a bunch of muzzle flashes and bullet ricochets on the footage and called it done.
Thanks again for watching guys, the next film that will be uploaded on the channel will be a big one, the biggest production I've done yet. There will be an announcement video on that project soon!
