In between Vienna and Budapest, we decided to stop and spend a couple of days in Bratislava, Slovakia.
A lot of backpackers skip over Bratislava and we discovered they're not the only ones. After the movies Hostel and Euro Trip came out, tourism dropped an astounding 75% in the capital city.
We, however, are SO GLAD we went! While the outside of the city still has communist buildings and some graffiti (like a lot of Europe), the city center was just beautiful and I adored the architecture.
And holy cow was it cheap! We enjoyed Slovakia's wines and traditional foods and it was all incredibly affordable. There was a crepe place right by our hostel where we ordered 8 crepes for only €4.50!
