In our first full day in Mackay, Australia, Joe and I went out hiking with Ash and her brother to see Araluen Cascades and the Wheel of Fire (named after the flowers that bloom during the spring and summer on the Queensland Firewheel Trees that surround the area). They were two BEAUTIFUL waterfalls in this amazing, lush forest. We hiked over rocks, rivers, and even tadpolls and it was gorgeous!
After eating some Australian meat pies for lunch we went to try and find some platypus AND WE DID! They're so cute and so much smaller than I thought they'd be!
