To the best of my knowledge, this is only the 2nd or 3rd video of an Autocar Xpert on route on Youtube! This driver's normal truck (Frieghtliner w/ same body) has been out for repairs so San Gabriel had this unit sent in straight from Long Beach - where we had no idea in the first place this truck even existed. Therefore, it is probably brand new as there is still plastic wrapping on the head rests above the seats.
The Autocar Xpert is a relatively new chassis designed by Autocar Trucks that was put into production sometime back in 2013-14. Unfortunately, it has seen little popularity among refuse trucks and is far more common on street sweepers in the Midwest and East Coast. I believe Chicago and D.C. are the only places where the Xpert hosts a refuse truck, though I may be mistaken. The design takes on a somewhat Australian/Euro look in my opinion, its closest relatives being the Izusu and various GMC chassis' here in the states.
