Hello,
I had originally planned on making a video for 6x02, but I just wasn't in the headspace, wonderful though their scenes in that episode were.
Then Nia didn't appear at all in 6x03, so that was a bust, and then finally we got a lot of goodies in this last episode (and content that made it clear that they are actually back together rather than just moving in that direction), so I figured I'd push myself to actually get something done. Because they're so cute and this is the final season, and I don't want to say goodbye.
Anyway...skip this line if you don't want to hear me commit what is essentially shipping blasphemy...I think these two might actually be the most supportive couple out of all of my ships. I used to say it was Drake/Morwenna without a shadow of a doubt (probably followed by Dylan/Emma)...but these two. It's not the same as Drake/Morwenna, obviously...but it's so consistent, so natural, and it's truly the best part of their whole dynamic. Much like with Drake/Morwenna, however, I've seen people in the fandom moaning about this aspect of their relationship and how Nia is too needy and Brainy deserves someone who doesn't need constant reassurance...I'm??? How dare a relationship be supportive and include open communication - especially about one's insecurities?
Obviously, Brainy has always been Nia's biggest support and cheerleader when it comes to her understanding her powers and learning to use them (and Nia's unconditional love and support, and commitment to open communication just make me weep), but for me, particularly in this episode, it's more of the casual checking in, how well they can read each other, how they know when to give each other space and when to push that makes them such a great duo. Like Nia said in 5x19, it's more than a relationship - they're partners. And she's right, they really are, in every sense of the word.
All of the actors on this show do such a great job with the relationships, regardless of the content the writers actually give them, so props to them all...Brainia just happen to own my heart.
Anyway, that's my mini rant on the many feelings I have about these two. Now I'm off to eat donuts and be hyped at the fact that (regardless of the absurdity of the reasoning behind it) we're getting a brainia centric time travel episode!!
One final thing - thanks again to my kindred soul, Alaina because her videos always help me find songs when I'm at an utter loss and hitting multiple brick walls.
