In 2010, one of my best friends Tim Johnson and I had the idea of writing and making a holiday album filled with new children’s Christmas songs, sang by children. We called the project “Marry Kidsmas”, and over a few week period, Tim and I and some other friends wrote a dozen or so new Christmas songs and soon after went into the studio and recorded the majority of them. This is one of the songs that I wrote with Paul Sikes. The little girl who sang it at the time was our friend Jeff’s 6 year-old daughter Cameron. She could barely read and yet, she breezed through the song and the video like she’d been doing it her whole life.
The music video was filmed by our friend PH in the living room of our farmhouse, except for the school kids portion that was filmed in at a classroom in Nashville. The little boy at the end is Tim’s little boy Jack.
Because at the time both Tim and I were more songwriters than artists, we recorded this album and a couple of other records under the pseudonym ‘The Song Trust’
