Both of the Democratic candidates outpolled the Tea Party-backed Republican winner Rand Paul in the Kentucky Senate Primary. With 99% of the votes counted, Jack Conway beat David Monginardo 226,652 to 221,164. Tea Party favorite and media darling Rand Paul tallied behind both Dems with 205,211 votes. Based on the lead-up and post-election spin, you may hear more about the Tea Party victory than the strong showing of the Democrats not to mention the weak showing by Republicans.
