The Bosch Professional GSR 12V-15 FC may not be one of Bosch’s newest drills, but its compact size and FlexiClick system still make it a very interesting option for cabinetry, second-fix, installation and finishing work.
In this review, I take a detailed look at the Bosch GSR 12V-15 FC and, more importantly, where this compact 12V drill/driver actually makes sense.
I go through the kit shown in the video, Bosch Professional 12V battery system, the FlexiClick locking mechanism and all four removable attachments:
• GFA 12-X bit-holder attachment
• GFA 12-B drill-chuck attachment
• GFA 12-W right-angle attachment
• GFA 12-E excenter / offset attachment
Together with the drill/driver’s integrated magnetic bit holder, these provide five different working configurations.
I also weigh the tool in different configurations, go through the technical specifications and then put it to use with some practical screwdriving and drilling tests. The right-angle and offset attachments are particularly useful when working around cabinets, shelves, hinges and other areas where access with a conventional drill can be difficult.
The GSR 12V-15 FC delivers 30 Nm of hard torque, has two speed ranges up to 1,300 rpm, 20+1 torque settings and a 1–10 mm drill chuck capacity. The bare tool itself weighs just 0.6 kg.
This isn't a drill designed around maximum power or heavy-duty construction work. Its real strength is compact size, low weight, control and versatility — especially for finishing work and jobs in confined or awkward spaces.
At the end of the video, I give my overall thoughts on whether I would buy one and run through the main Pros & Cons.
