Provisional Titles:Boruto’s MISCALCULATION Is Leading To Konoha’s DESTRUCTION
**Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has officially changed a piece of lore that dates all the way back to the original information surrounding Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki.
During the August 2026 manga break, Mikio Ikemoto released a massive amount of new Boruto information through V Jump, giving fans new worldbuilding details and character profiles similar to what would traditionally appear inside a Naruto databook. One of the biggest surprises was the confirmation of the current ages of several major Two Blue Vortex characters.
Himawari Uzumaki is officially 12 years old.
That creates an interesting contradiction with the older timeline established when Masashi Kishimoto originally designed Boruto and Himawari. The siblings were previously established with roughly a two year age difference, which should have placed Himawari around 13 during Two Blue Vortex. Ikemoto has now effectively rolled her age backward by one year.
However, there might be a very good storytelling reason for the change.
This video breaks down why Himawari being 12 actually fits her current development as a new shinobi, how the modern Konoha Academy system differs from the brutal system that produced child prodigies like Itachi, and why this retcon might improve Himawari's story.
The newly confirmed ages also answer several longstanding Boruto questions. Code is 18, Kawaki is 17, Daemon is 13, and Amado is 59. These numbers change how certain flashbacks and character relationships can be interpreted, especially the childhood dynamic between Code and Kawaki.
There is even a biological explanation for why Himawari experienced such a dramatic growth spurt while the older Daemon remains noticeably smaller.
Finally, this video examines why retcons are not automatically bad storytelling and why even successful long running authors occasionally need to adjust previously established continuity when their stories evolve.
