This is an old favorite country song called, "Born To Lose." It is a favorite stock song among pedal steel guitar artists and a great song to learn. I love the melody! I am using the E9th tuning.

I am using a reverse bar slant in place of raising the 8th string a half-tone. It sounds much better, I think. I learned this technique from Bobbe Seymour. Back in 1993, I visited Bobbe's studio in Nashville and he gave me a tour. What a treat! I remember on that particular day, he was recording "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down" in his studio while I was standing right next to him. Wow! Bobbe is one of my favorite artists on the pedal steel, and he's missed by many people. Bobbe has some great teaching stuff for free on YouTube if anyone is interested. Bobbe raised his 7th string a whole tone, which I've been using lately. It has a great sound to it!

My amp is a Peavey Session 400 with a 15" JBL speaker. I'm using a Boss DD-3 delay. I just replaced my original E9th stock pickup with a Bill Lawrence 710, which I like. I'm using some new things in the video that I learned from Lloyd Green, my favorite artist. I love Lloyd's intensity. I also raise my 1st string a whole tone. Other than that it's all standard, using 3 pedals and 4 knees.

Thank you for watching. God bless!
