BORING!
The Soundgas Gear Update has happened every Wednesday for about 10 years. It used to simply be a list of vintage gear - about which Pete Townshend wrote:
“Your list is the best, it really is. I just want everything on it.”
It takes a lot of manpower and time to put together and the workflow had steadily streamlined to listing most things on the site on the morning of mailout day (posting a link on social media afterwards).
Frankly, it had become onerous and more than a little dull. “Boring”, according to Tony. And loyal customers could miss out on the best stuff.
So starting today, the Gear Update will feature exclusive first looks at fresh new arrivals or incoming gear - before they go live on the site - so those on the list get an early heads up.
We plan to resurrect the big Soundgas List and once more feature the contents of the stock and parts shelves - to get back to that sense of exploration and the joy of sonic adventure that used to be part of the Wednesday update.
If you’re not on the list, you won’t have seen today’s preview of the next stage of the John Paul Jones Studio Collection, and doubtless missed some fast moving rarities (like this Electro Harmonix Mini Synth, or Metasonix effects and Wretch Machine). One of the three(!) EMS Synthis may still be available, but be sure to sign up now so you don’t miss out next week!
