I FINALLY killed this D-bag! This guy was such a headache, but it felt so awesome seeing him disintegrate into nothingness. It's by far the toughest invincible fight I've ever done.
I started the fight off by first throwing my turrets to sandwich Vorac and then by doing the old Tediore chucking routine. By equipping the Rough Rider Shield, I was able to lower my health so that I could take advantage of the Pressure bonus. After expending all Gunerang ammo, the Rough Rider got replaced by my Blockade Shield, and I then replaced the Gunerang with the Baby Maker (I had to put on the Blockade right after the Gunerang barrage because the Chief will come over and start harassing me most of the time). I made sure to switch back to the Legendary Soldier Com right before the turret deployment time ended so that I could have just a bit longer to do some damage.
Once the initial stage of the fight ended, I ran over to the totem to quickly kill the midget that spawned there when Vorac got his shield. My goal was to kill 1 or 2 (1 at the very least) midgets every swap so that the Chief wouldn't be damaged as much, thus hopefully giving me more rounds to get that damage in. I knew I couldn't keep the Chief alive forever, so I took him out after a round or two of shield swapping. I think I killed the Chief at the last possible moment before the shield swap, which was way too close for my liking.
The final stage of the fight was just me trying to survive while I slowly whittled him down with everything I had. The other Pointman Com I sometimes use would drop my health to 47, but I opted to use just a white one with no bonuses so that I could fully spec into both the Guerrilla and Gunpowder Trees (the other com needed 5/5 in Healthy and Forbearance AND 4/5 in Ranger to make it work, and this prevented me from going the 26/15/26 build route).
I also had to worry about the quake attack that happened about every 6 or 7 seconds (this attack causes the ground to shake, which can cause your shield and health to stop regenerating for a second or two). There were previous runs in which this "tremor" caused me to fall into FFYL when I really needed to health gate a nova. Luckily, this scenario didn't happen during the run.
And thus ends this Commando's trial by fire through OP8 solo raiding. I didn't know if I would ever complete the entire gauntlet, but I definitely was spurred on by all your words of encouragement. I appreciate that a lot! I hope you guys and gals enjoyed it.
Thanks again for your comments and support of my channel. I really appreciate you all!
If you have a comment, suggestion or something else you want me to do, let me know!
