Join us as we celebrate the launch of Dr. Ben Wynne's latest book, Something in the Water: A History of Music in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Wynne shares the musical history of the city of Macon from 1823 to 1980. Artists from the city include Little Richard, the Allman Brothers Band, James Brown, and Otis Redding. The history of Macon's many venues and the local institutions for music education are also discussed. Dr. Wynne delves into the rich history of Macon, and we want to share it with you!

Dr. Ben Wynne is a Professor at the University of North Georgia and is a frequent guest of the History Center. He is the author of four books of various topics in Southern History, including The Man Who Punched Jefferson Davis.
