Bonnie Tyler, the Welsh singer behind "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero," has died at 75. Her family confirmed she passed away the night of July 8th in a hospital in Faro, Portugal, calling her death unexpected.

Tyler had been hospitalized since early May following emergency intestinal surgery, and was placed in a medically induced coma after complications. Her family said in June she remained "very unwell" in intensive care, forcing the cancellation of tour dates through August. No official cause of death has been released.
