A bomb hidden in a gift exploded at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in central Moscow during the 55th birthday celebration of General Aleksandr Chayko. The blast killed five people and injured 21 others.
According to Russian outlet Verstka, Chayko's daughter was hospitalized with a severe head injury, and her husband may have been killed. General Chayko led Russian forces during the 2022 assault on Bucha and currently commands Russia’s Aerospace Forces, responsible for missile strikes on Ukraine. It remains unclear if the general himself was injured.
