Designed by Michishito Ishizuka, Bomb Jack captivated arcades with its high-flying acrobatics, unique gravity mechanics, and score-chasing gameplay. Players controlled the superhero Jack, leaping across famous world landmarks like the Egyptian Pyramids, the Acropolis, and Neuschwanstein Castle to defuse bombs while dodging monsters.
The upbeat soundtrack features original chiptune compositions alongside famous adaptations of popular 80s tracks, including dynamic renditions of Spoon's "Time" and the theme from the anime Lady Lin 1980. Composed for the AY-3-8910 sound hardware, the energetic audio perfectly driving the frantic action on screen.
