Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel and the seventh video in the Bolt Action Basics series. In this video, we are going to be looking at the ambush order and how this is assigned and used in games of Bolt Action.
Ambush is a little bit different to all of the other orders that you can use in Bolt Action. Most order are assigned and used straight away with their effects happening before moving onto the next dice. Run, advance, fire etc are all resolved in their entirety. Ambush is different in that while the order is assigned to the unit, its action may not occur until later in that turn or perhaps not even at all.
I did not think that the other orders warranted a video to explain how they work but with ambush, I thought that for new or potential players of the game, it would be useful to see how an order that is quite different from the others worked.
As with the rest of the Bolt Action Basics series, the videos are intended to be a very basic overview rather than a detailed analysis. I would always recommend picking up a copy of the main Bolt Action rulebook as this will expand on the areas of the game covered by this video and the rest of the Bolt Action basics series.
