[4K] Finnish army K9 Thunder (Moukari) SPG 155 mm howitzers can shoot many different kinds of munitions. Bofors BONUS (Bofors Nutating Shell)is a 155 mm artillery cluster round co-developed and manufactured by Bofors of Sweden and Nexter of France. It was designed to fulfill a long range, indirect fire, top attack requirement against armoured fighting vehicles.
The BONUS base bleed carrier shell contains two submunitions, which descend over the battlefield on winglets and attack targets with explosively formed penetrator warheads.

155 BONUS is a 155 mm NATO artillery round that consists of a 47-kilogram (104 lb) heavy artillery projectile containing two autonomous, sensor-fused, fire-and-forget submunitions.
After the submunition is released it opens two winglets. While descending, the submunition rotates, scanning the area below with multi-frequency infrared sensors and LiDAR that compares the detected vehicles with a programmable target database. The submunitions each contain a high-penetration EFP warhead for use against even heavy armoured fighting vehicles like main battle tanks.
When fired from a 52-caliber barrel, a BONUS shell can travel up to 35 km.

In July 2016, the Finnish Ministry of Defence announced that an undisclosed number of used K9s have been selected to be acquired from the Republic of Korea. The acquisition is claimed to be biggest of the decade for the Land Forces, whose both mobile and towed artillery face mass outdating in the 2020s. In February 2017, the Ministry of Defence announced that Finland will acquire 48 used K9s over a period of seven years starting in 2018, with conscript training on the equipment commencing in 2019. In November 2022 Finland announced to buy 48 more K9s. After delivery of all weapons Finland will have 96 K9 SPGs.
The K9 Thunder is a South Korean self-propelled 155 mm howitzer developed by Samsung Techwin for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and now manufactured by Hanwha Land Systems. It was developed to supplement and then replace the K55 self-propelled howitzers in South Korean service.
K9 is an indigenous system of an all-welded steel armour construction which is rated to withstand 14.5 mm armour piercing rounds, 152 mm shell fragments, and anti-personnel mines. The main armament consists of a 155 mm/52 caliber ordnance with a maximum firing range of 40 km; the K307 BB-HE projectile propelled by the K676 top charge has a muzzle velocity of 928 m/s (3,040 ft/s). State-of-the-art mobility subsystems include a 1,000 horsepower (750 kW) engine with potential for growth and hydropneumatic suspension unit, a requirement for Korea's rugged mountainous terrain.

Armoured Mortar Vehicle XA-361-AMOS
AMOS is a mortar system used by readiness brigades, introduced into service in the Finnish Defence Forces in 2013. Its use bases on a twin-barrelled vehicle making up an autonomous fire unit. Fire units may be used together in the main effort area or by distributing fire support to all fighting troops as necessary. AMOS is capable of firing a total of eight grenades hitting their target simultaneously using the multiple-round simultaneous impact principle. The system can open fire in less than 30 seconds and leave firing position in under 10 seconds after firing.
Target acquisition on AMOS is based on inertia and GPS positioning, and digital charts and an electronic firing control system are used in firing control.

A Military Vehicle Needs Transport Capability, Protection and Cross-Country Capability
The mobility of modern warfare and the logistical need to transport large amounts of materiel on the battlefield place many demands on vehicles of the Finnish Defence Forces. Transportation vehicles must have a good load-bearing capacity and the ability to transport passengers in demanding terrain. Additionally, the vehicles must offer the troops and transported goods protection against fire and other threats on the battlefield. Furthermore, off-road capable vehicles have an important role as transportation and weapon platforms of various weapons systems.
World-class mortars have been manufactured in Finland since 1933. They have also found their way onto international markets. Mortars such as the 120KRH92, which supports infantry combat operations , continue to be in active use by the Finnish Defence Forces. However, traditional mortars are becoming defendants. If the enemy has counter-radars capable of pinpointing the location of the mortar, the mortar crew can expect accurate counter-fire to be directed at its own firing position. Escaping from such counter-fire is hard for a traditional mortar platoon. A simple solution is to mount the mortar on the chassis of a vehicle, on the floor. This will add improved mobility. Furthermore, if the vehicle is armoured and the mortar is mounted on a turret and equipped with a fire control system, the weapon system will have high performance in the modern battlefield.
A mortar mounted on a vehicle capable of manoeuvring through rough terrain enables the vehicle to find a firing position quickly. It takes only 30 seconds for the vehicle to open fire after stopping. Similarly, after it finishes firing the vehicle can leave the firing position in just ten seconds. This is known as “shoot and scoot“. The mortar receives targeting information through the integrated communication system of the platform. The system determines its position with the aid of a GPS system, or its own inertia system. The fact that the mortar is mounted on a turret enables it to select its targets from a full 360 degree traverse and within a range of approximately ten kilometres. The elevation is -3/+85 degrees.
